SHARED VISION THROUGH INCLUSIVE, MULTI-BENEFIT REGIONAL PLANNING Engage with Regional Partners to Inform High Quality Planning and Implementation
Del Norte RCD will work with forest and agricultural landowners in the county to identify agroforestry projects that
support the local rural economy and advance wildfire resilience. The RCD is well positioned to launch a local
agroforestry push given the RCD’s close ties to the agricultural community and ability to learn from successful
prescribed grazing programs managed by sister RCDs in Sonoma and Marin counties. Nonnative grass and shrub
species (European beachgrass, Reed canary grass, French broom, tansy ragwort, etc.) are abundant across private
and public lands in Del Norte County. These species crowd out native plants and contribute to heavy understory
fuel loading.
