HEALTHY, SAFE AND RESILIENT COMMUNITIES
Address Climate Change and Extreme Event Effects, Impacts and Vulnerabilities
During the Mill Fire, approximately 20 homes were lost in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood west of HWY 97. Debris removal operations further impacted the existing water mains. The fire burned hot enough to melt the City's recently installed composite water meters, some of them melting over the adjacent valves inhibiting the City's ability to stop water services. To facilitate homes to be rebuilt, a new and larger water main, along with new services and water meters will be installed in the City's right-of-way.
