SHARED VISION THROUGH INCLUSIVE, MULTI-BENEFIT REGIONAL PLANNING
Engage with Regional Partners to Inform High Quality Planning and Implementation
The Trust for Public Land (TPL) is working with the McKinleyville Community Services District to acquire 556 acres of ecologically important private timberlands adjacent to the disadvantaged community of McKinleyville, and convert it into a Community Forest for public recreation and environmental health. Community forests are an innovative approach to forest management aimed at integrating social and ecological factors and promoting public access. MCSD will develop a comprehensive Forest Management Plan for which TA is requested.
