HEALTHY ECOSYSTEMS, HABITATS AND SPECIES Conserve, Enhance and Restore Watersheds and Ecosystems that Support Biological Diversity
This riparian restoration effort implemented two parts of an overall plan that included improvements to channel and stream banks and supported other invasive plant removal efforts within the Russian River Watershed. The tribe secured funding to design channel improvements from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and from NRCS and Fish & Wildlife to implement riparian planting. The project involved PPN Citizens and Youth in the removal and re-vegetation activities which were reinforced by field-based science and culture lessons.
