North Coast Durable Collaborative Project Development
Planning/Design
The intention of this contract is to support the development of landscape scale projects that are implementation ready, prioritizing the following criteria: Long-term plan should have multi-objective, programmatic, landscape scale outcomes. Smaller projects or project elements that fit into a longer-term plan or project portfolio are also acceptable (i.e. demonstration projects that can be expanded in scope if successful). Connectivity/adjacency: while individual projects do not need to be connected or adjacent, priority projects
should support a larger landscape-scale effort (i.e. be a part of a community fuel break, or fill in gaps in existing projects, reinforce landscape scale outcome

General Information

Project Description Narrative (1,000 character limit)
The project is to include planning and performing the necessary permitting required for performing fuels reduction on the Hobel Dump site in Trinity Center, within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. There is an abundance of fuels located on and around the dump site posing concerns for residents. Funding treatment for this site, as it is located on County property, has been historically challenging, but with the TCRCD expecting to receive funding for fuels reduction implementation through the State Coastal Conservancy, we believe that we can finally assist the community in mitigating these fuels. TCRCD has an already funded project for fuels reduction to be performed on the adjacent properties so this project would provide great project continuity and reduce wildfire risk. The site is of concern to the Trinity Center VFD and Firewise Community and is a priority project identified in the 2020 Trinity County CWPP.
