Del Norte RCD is exploring the expansion of its jurisdictional authority and its geographical area beyond the Smith River Watershed to encompass the whole county, and to include forest health and fuel management within its mission. the North Coast RCD Durable Collaborative will work with the District Manager to support these planning efforts.

The North Coast RCD Durable Collaborative and the Del Norte RCD will work together to develop a project pipelinefor future conservation projects the RCD wants to see developed that enhance the lands and waters of Del Norte County, including a list of project/project types DNRCD are interested in pursuing under the current RCD jurisdictional authority, including potential project partners, as well as a list of potential projects and geographies DNRCD could expand into if the RCD’s jurisdictional authority were expanded, and the additional benefits that would accrue, including potential partnerships with Tribes and other community partners.
