To perform fuels reduction treatments and utilize biomass from 341 acres of steep overgrown Doug-fir forestland on Yurok tribal trust. This will significantly reduce the risk of a potential catastrophic wildfire to the entire Klamath Townsite Community and increase safety to homeowners, residents, business’ and the Yurok Tribal Headquarters, Hotel and Fuel Mart. Thinning will also enhance carbon production to assist with mitigating climate change. In addition to protecting the community and restoring cultural values, we will utilize small DBH trees to create more jobs to mill lumber for community items such as picnic tables, decks, smokehouses, etc. and provide firewood to Yurok Elders.
