Deferred/Unfunded
The Community of Whale Gulch has 3 organizations each vital to its infrastructure, development and survival. Coastal Headwaters Association our nonprofit 501c3 which is also the parent nonprofit for the Whale Gulch Volunteer Fire Company and the Whale Gulch Fire Safe Council. These organizations work hand in hand to support, protect and nurture the watersheds, wildlife, wilderness and people that define it.
Right now we are focusing on capacity building, planning, restructuring & especially administrative development through meetings and workshops. Also the Fire Company & Fire Safe Council will be building on their current & future goals as well as mapping analysis and site assessment.

General Information
Project Description Narrative (1,000 character limit)
This project TA for WG organizations will enhance the capacity building for three out of five Whale Gulch entities; Coastal Headwaters Inc.(CHA), our non-profit 501c3, established in 1978, which in turn parents our WG Volunteer Fire Company (WGVFC) and our newly formed WG Fire Safe Council (WGFSC).
In order for these all volunteer organizations to survive the current economic collapse, technical assistance is needed for each, to carry out the restructuring & the development necessary to create additional funding streams supporting them to build administrative and technological capacity, which will enhance the ability to provide job opportunities within the community. The immediate goal is the hiring of a minimum of one or two key personnel in each entity. To achieve this goal it is vital that we advance our administrative knowledge & practices, computer & program upgrades, grant development, writing and management, site assessments, deeper layers of mapping & project cost estimates.

Project Types
Project Types
This project is about community organizations building and enhancing their technical capacity and working with each other to ensure a cohesive group which supports local resilience and will allow us to collaborate and interact more effectively with other local and regional planning efforts.
TA for Whale Gulch Organizations will support our three stewardship organizations to develop administrative capacity in function and operation. This increased knowledge and capacity will open up pathways to additional areas within each organization that need specific technical assistance, like mapping, fuel reduction project cost estimates, site assessment for the Fire Company. Fund management and job opportunities for the community.
