NCRP RFFC Technical Assistance (DOC)
Completed
Leggett Valley Fire Department would like to request technical assistance in developing projects to remove hazardous fuels from along the many narrow, winding, private ingress and egress roads, many that are “one way in one way out”. This project would remove hazardous fuels along approximately 30 miles of private driveways in the Leggett Valley Fire Protection District.

Project Attributes

General Information

Project Description Narrative (1,000 character limit)
Leggett Fire will identify, map and prioritize private ingress and egress routes in the Leggett Valley Fire Protection District that need hazardous fuel removal. Leggett will work with a RPF to write a prescription for the project. Leggett Fire personnel will coordinate outreach meetings and acquire MOU’s and agreements with landowners and stakeholders. Leggett Fire is requesting technical assistance for professional services in navigating regulatory and permit processes. The CalVTP program EIR for CEQA compliance requires a Project Specific Analysis and details Standard Project Requirements to be in compliance with the PEIR. Leggett is requesting TA in developing a PSA, navigating the CalVTP process, and submitting a competitive grant proposal to Cal-Fire. Historically it has been difficult for Leggett Fire to retain professional services in the area either for financial or location reasons. An all volunteer department is difficult to devote time needed to develop projects.
