NCRP RFFC Technical Assistance Round 2
Completed
The Redway Forest Health Project will result in fuels reduction and forest health treatments across about 800 contiguous acres of forest that present a serious wildfire risk to the community. The project area includes about 680 acres of CA State Parks land and about 120 acres of private property. These forests have unnaturally heavy fuel loading, and are identified as a high priority for treatment by CAL FIRE and the County’s Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Technical assistance is need to conduct surveys for completion of CEQA.

Project Attributes

General Information

Project Description Narrative (1,000 character limit)
CEQA for this project will require botany and archeology surveys. We request support to complete these surveys as soon as possible, with a special emphasis on spring botany surveys being completed in 2022. We understand that BBW Associates is one firm that is under contract to provide technical assistance. Their support is requested for the botany surveys, which we estimate at $10,000, and the archaeology surveys, estimated at $5,000. The botany surveys are time-sensitive and must take place in the spring. Technical assistance funds will increase the likelihood of funding as well as the readiness for implementation for this essential project.
