Project Overview

Basics

CLEAN AND ABUNDANT WATER FOR HUMAN COMMUNITIES
Ensure Water Supply Reliability and Quality
Elevated Water Tank Rehabilitation

  • Address Climate Change and Extreme Event Effects, Impacts and Vulnerabilities
  • Ensure that Disadvantaged and Underrepresented Communities Benefit from Initiatives
  • Improve Drinking Water Quality and Water Related Infrastructure to Protect Public Health
  • Respect Local Autonomy and Local Knowledge in NCRP Planning and Implementation

NCRP IRWM Prop 84 Drought (DWR)
Completed
This project will seismically retrofit and perform health and safety upgrades to the existing 50,000 gallon welded steel elevated water tank. The retrofits are in three categories: structural to make the tank more resistant to seismic activity, safety to meet all current standards, and upgrades to prevent potential water quality degradation.

General Information

Project Description Narrative (1,000 character limit)
As completed, the project performs the intended functions of supplying water reliability at approximately 707 acre-feet of water per year for residential customers, pressurizing the water system and providing an emergency water supply. A pressure-reducing valve (PRV)system, housed in a secured concrete-block building with upgraded electricity and plumbing and an associated emergency ground-level storage tank were installed. The project upgraded open drainage ditching by installing a culvert extension, which stabilized the new ground-level tank foundation. In addition, a new security fence with barbed-wire and razor wire was installed to enclose the site. These improvements created a safer, more secure maintenance facility that is in compliance with current standards.
